I don’t want to get any Aperture users hopes up but, there are several sites stating that a new version of aperture is expected in December. That being said Apple has seemingly forgotten the Professional Photographer. Its almost like they want everyone to have an iPhone for their camera and iPhoto as the editor.
I find it interesting to read the comments that come in on social media like Gplus. Consistently people complain about the complexity of Lightroom and the lack of new features in Aperture. Not to mention performance! I personally like Lightroom, though i can understand why people don’t like it. I was one at first too. I downloaded a trail of LR4 last December, I had trouble didn’t know my way around and decided that i’d give Aperture a try. That did not last very long because i began to get frustrated with performance issues. In May i downloaded a Beta version of LR5 and bought it a month later. I have been pretty happy ever since.
There is a long list of features that people want in Aperture. For Apple to retain customers, the next release has to be a big one!!When i say big i mean BIG!! It has to have better performance and a tone of new features. In a way they need to be better than Lightroom.
I personally consider a switch back to Aperture, though they would have to come through big. Plus it would have to be cheap or even free because of the fact that i already bought Aperture from them.
